This page explains what personal information Aposs collects through this website, why, and what your choices are. We’ve kept it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
This website is run by Aposs Ltd, trading as Aposs Video Production. Aposs Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 07146362, with its registered office at Douglas Bank House, Wigan Lane, Wigan, Lancashire, WN1 2TB. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us the “data controller”. For anything to do with your information, email matty@aposs.tv or call 01942 417422.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us. The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. The form emails those details to us so we can reply; this website does not keep a copy. If we go on to work together, your details stay in our email and project records for as long as we need them to do that work and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, where a project follows, on the contract between us.
Spam protection. The contact page uses hCaptcha to tell people from bots. hCaptcha receives technical details such as your IP address and information about your browser in order to do that. This is necessary to keep the form usable.
Analytics, only if you accept. If you choose Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people find us. If you decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. We rely on your consent, and you can change your mind at any time: change your cookie choice.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type and the page asked for, to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies
- Your cookie choice. We remember whether you accepted or declined analytics using your browser’s local storage, so we don’t have to ask on every page.
- Google Analytics (
_gaand_ga_*), set only if you accept. They last up to two years and let Google Analytics tell one visit from another. If you later decline, we delete them. - hCaptcha may set cookies on the contact page as part of checking for bots.
Other services this site uses
These companies receive your IP address simply because your browser fetches files from them when a page loads:
- Google Fonts, for the typefaces.
- ShortPixel, which delivers optimised versions of our images.
- Vimeo, when you choose to play one of our films. Vimeo may set its own cookies when a film plays.
Some of these companies are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where information is transferred abroad, it is done under the safeguards those providers have in place for international transfers.
We never sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their marketing.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email matty@aposs.tv and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this page
If we change how we use personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
